Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) is glad to state that the UKM Vice-Chancellor Gold and Silver Scholarships applications are now open to both local and international students. These scholarships are awarded to exemplary local and international students who will study as full-time Masters and Doctor Research or Mixed Mode Postgraduate Program students at UKM.

Scholarship benefits
There are two types of UKM’s scholarships, each having its own benefits as follows:
1. Gold scholarships cover:
- All fees
- Living stipend _RM3200/month for Ph.D. and RM2200/month for master’s
- Housing allowance –RM300/month
- One roundtrip flight ticket _international Sabah and Sarawak
- Visa expense (for international students only)
2. Silver scholarships cover:
- Waived tuition and registration fees
- Living allowance RM2000/month (Doctoral) & RM1500/month for MSc
- Lodging allowance RM300 per month
Eligibility criteria
- Both national and international prospective MSc and Ph.D. students can apply;
- For Master’s Degree, candidates must have earned a Bachelor’s Degree with Distinction CGPA of at least of 3.67 or a First Class Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from a renowned university demonstrating credibility as a scholar;
- Candidates must have earned a Master’s degree or equivalent from a recognized university for Ph.D.;
- Ph.D. candidates must have at least TWO articles published in Q2 journal and above as first student author;
- For Ph.D. Fast Track, the candidate must meet the requirements of a master’s degree applicant;
- Students should have an exceptional academic record for both levels;
- Must write an essay indicating why UKM should select you as scholarship recipient; and
- Must not receive assistance or fund from any Federal/State or any other legal entities.
Scholarship application result
Applicants should expect to be notified via email one month after the deadline and conclusion of the evaluation & selection process.
How to apply?
In order to apply for UKM Vice-Chancellor Scholarships, you should follow the following steps:
1. You should first apply for UKM postgraduate scholarship admission through the below application link.
2. After that, download and fill in the application form and then submit it along with other supporting documents (listed below) to UKM’s Graduate Center via email: (awardsandscholarship@ukm.edu.my).

- Passport-sized photograph
- Copy of Identity card/Passport (certified copy)
- Certificate copies of academic transcripts Bachelor Degree and Master Degree (attested copy)
- Frontpage of the published articles (only for Ph.D. students)
- Frontpage of the UKM online Application Form (excluding those who have received admission offer)

- Briefly describe why you are the right match for UKM scholarship
